In my opinion people let their politcal views get in the way of what is really going on in the world.

"Well that Al Gore is a democrat and is making up this global warming stuff to push his agenda. Them democrats want to abort our babies and make gay marriage legal."

The environment is not about that, its about all of us. Don't think the environment is a left winged political agenda. The story of stuff helps educate why we don't need so much stuff. Can we take stuff with us when we die, no! Can we leave things better for our children when we die, yes. If you believe in families and a better world; educate yourself. We need to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Every little bit helps. Be conscious of how you may be effecting the world.

Don't let politics tell you that we are not in a global crisis. Reduce consumption! Take a look and educate yourself. David was born a couple of months ago but didn't officially become apart of our family until last week. My brother Scot and his wife Lorelei adopted David and had him sealed to them in the SLC Temple. My grandpa died the week previous so a lot of family was in town for the funeral and were also able to participate in this joyous occasion. It was part of Improv Everywhere (www.improveverywhere.com) which is based out of New York. I was first introduced to this group from This American Life on NPR. When I heard they were doing a nationwide stunt and Salt Lake was included I knew I had to be a part of it. So I put on my best boxers went downtown on Saturday afternoon (Jan 12th) to meet up with the other "agents". There were initially about 15 of us who received instructions but there ended up being many more who would participate. There were people there ranging from 12 to like 60 years old. I boarded trax with the rest of them and people proceeded to take off their pants. At first I was reluctant to take off my pants because the man across from me I believe was a undercover cop. He made the round trip with us from the Energy Solutions Arena to the court house stop and back. But none the less I took my pants off and read my magazine on that ride. It was a sunny day so it wasn't too bad to be just sporting my boxers. As we boarded the train back to the arena I noticed that there must have been anywhere from 30 to 40 of us. Even some good looking girls sported some panties, no thongs because that would be indecent. The media was on board making the trip with us . The media ranged from print to TV. I happen to make it on KTVX ABC 4 news (link provided). All in all I was happy to have made the trip and participated in this fun event. I would like to see more Improv Everywhere events here is Salt Lake City.

Rob Ferrehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01444969673957287273noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30886260.post-15181972861066986072007-08-29T03:49:00.001-04:002007-08-29T04:02:45.345-04:00VerrucktheitIn high school we made a video which spoofed ER. We showed it at an assembly and it was a hit. So we thought a sequel needed to be made. The problem was we lost half of our cast midway though the taping. Some of them thought playing tennis was more important. But in the end Brit Cannon and I made this bit. No real story other than I wanted to be some German guy. The video was never made for the assembly and the footage was thought to be lost. Ten years later thanks to Matt Ward, who found this footage, was able to make this footage into something magical. Matt made some great choices with music and put in some sweet special effects to make Verrucktheit. In the video I pop up more than once as a different character. Also watch Brit's hair as he clenches the fan as he falls in agony. Now enjoy the show.

Rob Ferrehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01444969673957287273noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30886260.post-88993809297020142102007-06-04T19:47:00.001-04:002007-06-04T20:00:59.642-04:00Library Pirate!

I have found the best way to get music for free and not feel like an internet pirate. Go to the Library. It's a great place for music and fun. "Fun!" you say? Yes so much fun because you can get music, download it onto your laptop. Then when you are done, you can head out and get some more. If you don't have a laptop then check out some music and take it home. Its not stealing, its borrowing from the government, your local government. I even found my friend Pete's Theta Naught album in the local music section. The library can open so many doors. There are some cute librarians too. There is this one girl with a funky accent who helps me find music. The library is soo much fun. Life is great and I just recently made a sweet cross country journey from Orlando to Salt Lake. Yeah was the third time that I have made that drive. My friend Shelly was moving back to Utah from Orlando so I decided to give her some company on the drive.
Well, a friend of mine found this video on Youtube and its from Give Kids the World out in Kissimee, Florida. I used to DJ monthly and a guest took this video and posted it. We are doing the Men In Black dance. Enjoy!

Rob Ferrehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01444969673957287273noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30886260.post-4311997756119886372007-03-16T16:33:00.000-04:002007-03-16T16:59:21.204-04:00Life of the Party EntertainmentI'd like to invite you to check out www.life-of-the-party.com , my new business website. The part of living in SL that I don’t care for much is that of the singles scene. That was one of the reasons I took myself to Florida. Salt Lake is just a big fish tank full of single clown fish. In Florida the fish banded together because there wasn’t much of us. I did come back to Utah for the seasons (which don’t exist in Florida), the snow, the mountains, and family.
I was able to DJ my first dance last week. It went well but not as many people showed up as I wanted to but its a start. I have more gigs in the coming month but I always want more.

I also work part time for a company that specializes in themed parties, special events and singing telegrams. I have already set out on a hand full of singing telegrams including Elvis, Eugene the Nerd, a Gorilla, and Harry Fairy. Its fun and easy money.

Utah is certainly a change from Florida but a necessary one. There are different opportunities I feel I can pursue. I have also gone back to doing improv for Comedy Sportz which I am excited to do. So once again I am looking to put more things on my plate to keep me busy. Thats it for now.
Rob Ferrehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01444969673957287273noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30886260.post-1166054752843687462006-12-13T18:49:00.000-05:002006-12-17T02:46:43.486-05:00Back Home

My time is over and done in Orlando. That chapter of my life is now closed. As fun as it was I realized that I needed to be back home in Utah. I took a cross country journey that took me through Atlanta to spend time with my favorite Georgia Peach, Hilary. Then I traveled across the country to follow my heart like in some sappy chick flick. The outcome wasn’t what movies are made of. Boy looses girl, girl finds a new boy. Old boy tries to win back girl and girl decides new boy is a better fit. So boy realizes that life will go on and many lessons were learned.
Now a new chapter begins back where it all started. I hope this chapter will have a happy ending. I hope to pursue the DJ business in Utah. I believe I have a certain niche that still needs to be tapped into here in Utah, being family and kid events. I have a unique product and I hope Utah welcomes my interactive DJ style.
A few random thoughts, I must say its nice and cold back here in Utah and I love the snow. My mom says my blood needs to thicken up before I can get really used to the cold. I came home just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas which is great to be with family at this time. I also made a recent trip to Disneyland which was amazing. I realize how much I love that place because living in Orlando and working for the mouse there made me a bit jaded. The attractions there are better including Space Mountain which was amazing. The Haunted Mansion can’t be missed at Christmas time. Pirates is just better than the WDW one and has new characters from the movies incorporated. Also went to California Adventure where I have never been before, and it was great. Lots of fun to be had in Disneyland.
To wrap things up I am ready to Salt Lake another chance. Things are slow now but I will find something that will get me on track to my career. That is all for now and happy holidays.

Be sure to visit my website it has a lot more fun stuff:

http://web.mac.com/robferreRob Ferrehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01444969673957287273noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30886260.post-1162784139345405582006-11-05T21:42:00.000-05:002006-11-05T22:35:39.363-05:00Winds of ChangeSo I have set a date to return to Utah. I will be hitting the road on November 18th from Orlando, FL. I am hoping to arrive just in time for Thanksgiving. I am excited for the return but really excited to live in Salt Lake. Its just not the same in the SLC. Random note I hate those Charels Schwab commercials talking in that creepy cartoon film type. I find it wierd and creepy. Those Geico commercials with the caveman are over saturated and that premise has been so drawn out but the most recent one of the cavemen in the airport. The only redeeming value of that commercial is the music and the subtilty of it. I want that song from the commercial.
Back to the subject at hand. I believe my time in Florida was important and critical for my success. It has been a type of graduate work or training for me. Even though I didn't enroll in school, I was able to practical life experience and learn how to be an interactive DJ. My DJ training will help me on my way to may career. I believe I can use my degree by day and "mad" DJ skills by night.
The time seemed right to be home for the holidays but it is hard to leave here. Plenty of opportunities to work for the holidays here and it sucks to pass up those opportunities. But Family is important and getting a start on things in Utah would be a positive. I also wanted to be closer to a special someone which obviously will sweeten the deal. The deal has been somewhat thwarted but the idea that she wants to date other people. Which to me is the beginning of the end. I will sobrevivir. You gotta do what you gotta do.
So that is the update for now, nothing too articulate or introspective. I hope you liked it.Rob Ferrehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01444969673957287273noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30886260.post-1157265040787901362006-09-03T02:30:00.000-04:002006-09-03T02:30:40.800-04:00Anti-Social SportsSo as the weekend nears, I think about my decisions in relation to watching sporting events on the TV. I have had a terrible weekend I kinda went 1 for 5 in the games this weekend. I got an early start on Thursday, I was excited because it was a double header. First the Bucs were playing preseason ball against the Texans and the Mets were at the Rockies. I turned down an opportunity for dinner with a friend and some other offers on the table for a night of exciting sports action. The Bucs ended up loosing and the Mets lost 4 to 8. Well, I wrote it off because the Mets are 12 games ahead for the penant and preseason ball means nothing. But I enjoy watching my teams win or loose but after a loss, you feel particulary stupid because what return did I recieve from my teams. No W's for me and I turn out to be a big L because I turn social activities. Other sporting events included the USA basketball in which I wake up at 6:30 in the morning for because its being played in Japan. Team USA lost to Greece but got bronze against Argentina. So team USA got me one win this weekend. Then the last game BYU v Arizona, ahhh. The most frustrating of all. The beginning of a new season and BYU football in rare to see in out here in Florida. So I left all my friends at dinner tonight to catch the game and watch them loose. Why do torment me so, Cougars? So what is the conclusion, be anti-social and watch my teams loose or have twist of fate and irony strike and my team happens to win while I take the social route. What do I do? Become more social for the sake of my teams or get new friends who like to watch sports. There you go, say what you will.

PB(Post Blog) No comments will be accepted of the "Well thats what you get for being a BYU fan" tpyeRob Ferrehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01444969673957287273noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30886260.post-1152482081174491812006-07-09T17:53:00.000-04:002006-07-09T18:01:15.450-04:00Josh made me do thisOne day I will look back and realize that I owe my entire existence to Joshua Holyoak. He is my hero.
-Josh...err, I mean...Rob.

So this is a step in the right direction. Josh wanted me to create this Blog so we could keep in better contact. I came up to Maryland to visit my long lost friend Josh. We were able to go to North Carolina and hit the beach a bit. We chatted about life, which can be expounded upon. This is just a test, so there will be more to come.Rob Ferrehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01444969673957287273noreply@blogger.com1
